Overview

About Telegram Username Checker

Telegram Username Checker is a small web dashboard for running a Telegram community of your own users. When people give you their @username on a signup form, you paste or upload the list and the app confirms which ones are real Telegram accounts using Telegram's public t.me pages, with no action needed from the user. Valid names go into a local roster that you can export as CSV.

Connect a bot and the dashboard also mirrors your group chat as a live, two-way feed, so you can read and post from the browser. The Members view lists everyone the bot has seen in the group, and you can ban or kick spammers there or by replying /ban or /kick to a message in Telegram. You can also create invite links to share from your platform.

Safe mode is on by default and paces everything to stay well under Telegram's limits. Verification checks run one at a time with a daily cap, bot actions are spaced out and wait when Telegram asks them to, and a manual-add meter warns you before you add too many people yourself.

It works only with usernames people gave you. It does not look anyone up by phone number or email, and it is not a contact-matching tool. Everything runs on your machine with a local SQLite database, and the dashboard is meant to stay on localhost or behind your own login.

FAQ

Questions and answers

Can't find what you're looking for? See the store FAQ or write to humans@thinktools.dev.

What do I receive?
The complete source code, a setup guide that includes deploying to a VPS, and all updates.
What do I need to run it?
Node.js 18 or later. The Users tab (verification, roster and CSV export) works without a bot. The group chat and moderation tabs need a bot created with @BotFather that is an admin in your supergroup.
Can it find people by phone number or email?
No. It only checks usernames that people gave you. Telegram's rules also mean a bot cannot add people to a group or message users who have not messaged it first, so use invite links to bring people in.
Will this get my account or bot restricted?
Safe mode is designed to keep you well under Telegram's limits, with default daily caps of 200 checks and 500 bot actions that you can adjust. Adding people by hand in the Telegram app is tracked with a meter so you can pace yourself.
Is the dashboard password protected?
It has no login of its own. Keep it on localhost, or put it behind your own authentication if you host it on a server.
How do support and refunds work?
Email humans@thinktools.dev for help with setup. For refund terms, see Refunds.
